So you’re in beautiful Sarasota and want a place to eat amazing seafood but have a date that is insisting on a succulent steak? Head over to Phillippi Creek Village Restaurant & Oyster Bar where both of you will find something to tempt your palates. This is where my wife and I found ourselves on our most recent trip out to the great state of Florida. We spent a week in Sarasota and ate at Phillippi Creek Village Restaurant & Oyster Bar five times! I am a sucker for great seafood but my wife likes more of the “turf” fare so it’s sometimes hard to find a great combo restaurant. We found it! While their specialty is certainly seafood, their “turf” is just as delicious.
Everything on the menu looks great and I’m sorry that we couldn’t try it all, but every dish that we had was prepared and seasoned to perfection. Fresh seafood is what life is about and if you are looking to experience true seafood, look no further. The staff really knew their stuff too. They were able to help with wine pairings and explained some of the fish that I wasn’t familiar with.We went both for lunch and dinner and on each occasion we were greeted by a great staff and friendly atmosphere. We travel a lot and have not been anywhere with better service.
Of course I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the great view. Ocean front, casual dining at it’s finest. We watched boat and birds sail by and enjoyed the fresh air on the patio will enjoying a Phillippi Phil’s Brew.
A few extra facts should also be mentioned. This is a child friendly restaurant with their “Little Mates Menu” and casual environment. They also feature a “Healthy Heart Menu” with entrees containing no more that 25% caloric intake from fat. So no matter who you are planning to go with there is something on the menu to fit. Lastly Phillippi Creek Village Restaurant & Oyster Bar is accessible by land on US 41 or by sea if you prefer to boat in, you’ll find it by mile marker 72 on the intracoastal waterway. We want to make it back to Sarasota just to head back to Phillippi Creek Village Restaurant & Oyster Bar.
